Testimonials 2013

I have had nothing but excellent service from Domus Tutoring. A fantastic 11 Plus Tutor was arranged for my daughter, who came to my home each week – very reliable, prepared and motivating.  Not only did my daughter not like maths, she thought she was no good at the subject.  Now she enjoys it and in a recent school test achieved 15/15, the only one in her class.  My daughter has passed the 11 Plus but even if she hadn’t, the help and support she has received has been worth every penny. I am so impressed with the teaching quality that I will be helping my son to achieve better marks in his GCSE’s with the help of Domus Tutoring. Mrs S.L-H. of Southbourne, October 2013

We can’t say how grateful we are to you for all your help with our son – we will be eternally grateful! We will all miss you. Mr & Mrs L. of Walkford, October 2013

I used Domus Tutoring for a short while and only wished I had discovered them sooner.  As well as instilling the knowledge my son required, the lessons gave him so much more.  He was inspired, his interest was ignited and his confidence increased.  He formed a unique relationship with his tutor based on mutual respect.  This was fundamental in the progress he made in such a short time.  For this short time, his tutor became a very important to him and he looked forward to each lesson with great enthusiasm.  I can’t recommend them highly enough. Mrs C. of Southbourne, October 2013

… a complete credit to both my children’s education. The tutor gave everything a child could wish for within his education. Cannot praise enough the value the tutor gave to this family.  I can only highly recommend … the benefit the tutor gave both my sons. Mrs N.S. of Christchurch, October 2013

I have been pleased with the maths lessons and my son responded well to the tutor’s teaching style. H.P. of New Milton, July 2013

We were very pleased with Domus tutoring, our tutor was reliable, flexible, knowledgeable, and very friendly, and would request him again for our next child if required.  We would recommend Domus tutoring to our friends. C.B. of Christchurch, July 2013

I would just like to say how pleased we have been with our son’s progress since starting with his tutor at the beginning of this school year.  He started Year 6 completely lacking in confidence with his literacy.  He had always struggled with this subject and had decided he was useless!  Trying to get him to complete any writing based homework was a nightmare and I worried that he’d lag behind when starting secondary school. The tutor gave work during the lesson which was just the right level for our son, backed up by about 45 minutes of homework each week (which he had to do completely independently!). Slowly but surely his confidence with writing and grammar has grown and he now has a completely different attitude, actually acknowledging he’s now quite good at literacy rather than thinking he’s useless!  We will be finishing with the tutoring tomorrow, having achieved what we set out to do, happy in the knowledge that our son now has a good grounding for secondary school. He wrote in the comments section of his end of year school report “my literacy has really improved this year because of my tutor”, hopefully his class teacher didn’t take that personally! C.B. of Ringwood, July 2013

We have just received our son’s end of term report and we are so pleased and proud of him. From a lad who was under achieving in his written English work he has finished at age expected attainment, this is due to his hard work and your diligent tutoring, thank you so much.  He is very happy with his results and passes on his huge thanks to you as well. If you ever need references for any future prospective parents/students you know where to come!! S.M. of Burton, July 2013

I am writing to thank you for tutoring me. It has given me more confidence in my ability in maths and helped me greatly in planning my approach to the exam. I think the exams went really well and will let you know the outcome of our efforts. Many thanks again. J.B. of Milford on Sea, June 2013

We moved to Geneva a few years ago and my daughter needed extra tuition as she prepared for her GCSE Chemistry. The flexibility of Skype enabled her to have one on one lessons with an excellent teacher, giving her the confidence she needed for her mock exam and the  GCSE exam too. I couldn’t wait to tell all my friends. I highly recommend Domus Tutoring and will be using their services again as my daughter embarks on her A’Levels. G.O-B. of Geneva, June 2013

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for helping my daughter improve so much with her maths. I can’t believe that back in October she was really struggling and not enjoying school due to lack of confidence in this subject, and within a very short time she has moved up a group, is above the recommended level, and absolutely loves maths. All we wanted was a little extra confidence, but we have  gained so much more! She really enjoyed her weekly lessons, and was sad to end them! We will definitely be in touch again if your help is required for her, or our son, at a later stage. S.H. of Bournemouth, April 2013

Thank you so much… I am incredibly sad … lessons have ended! I know he certainly will miss them. They have been a huge success … with both tutors having played a massive part in his education that we will always be very grateful for. We will of course stay in touch… L.S. of Corfe Mullen, March 2013

… proved to be an exceptional tutor. Taking our mildly dyslexic daughter to a reading age two years above her start level within just nine months. Attention paid and innovative teaching, allied to her authoritative patience made my daughter engage and concentrate in areas she had shied away from through sheer frustration. The routine and work set made a massive difference to her self-esteem and progress. … made a positive impact on all of us with her care and friendly ambition to make things better for all of us. Mr. C. W. of Mudeford, February 2013

We have enjoyed seeing the tutor helping our daughter and she enjoyed her lessons. I am sure she made progress…  We are keeping your numbers and would love to have the tutor helping us when needed. Many thanks for your support. Mrs G.H. of Highcliffe, January 2013

Our 9 year old daughter seemed to have slipped through the net at school, falling well below national levels in both English and maths… At first contact she warmed to the tutor… (whose) amazing rapport, patience and continual encouragement transformed our daughter from a child who shied away from books and any unnecessary writing to a girl who, over time, found the love of reading, the ability to spell and the vocabulary to create pieces of written work we never imagined she would achieve. As a consequence our daughter is now working to the national literacy expectations. We would recommend… to any parent who sees their child struggling and only wish we had had the foresight to find them sooner… really was our Mary Poppins! One happy child, two even happier parents. Mrs C.M. of Bournemouth, January 2013
